It's in my kitchen, leaning on the window sill I look out every morning during breakfast. What better place to honor the good feeling??!

How did finding Real Small Art affect your day, if at all?
I was excited. Very rarely do you get anything other then bills or junk mail. A piece of art was quite the pleasant surprise!!

What was your first reaction?
I was overwhelmed by the kind gesture. It's hard to pin point those "random acts of kindness" in today's society, but Real Small Art is the essential definition. It's amazing to physically hold that "act of kindness."

It hangs next to our door as a reminder to pass on our own act of kindness to others. It also inspires me to be grateful for the little things in life.

Arriving in a big red envelope it was similiar to getting a surprise gift of freshly cut flowers...but this gift won't die and droop and leave its dead petals around.

My husband Brian Korte knows Tiffany and I recieved a beautiful small flower in the mail.

What do you think about this project?
I thought it was the sweetest idea to send these out to people. When my husband explained to me what it was all about, I was really touched by the concept. It completely brightened my day! :)

We are having a baby girl in May and I plan to incorporate the picture in her nursery since it is such a brightly colored flower and I want our baby to have lots of bright and happy colors surround her.

As I mentioned earlier, it brightened my day and I loved the concept of people using their talents and gifts to just do random acts of kindness. It's an awesome concept!

The coffeehouse we found the art in is our absolute favorite stop on the Banks. We snuck down for a short weekend get-away when I found this cheery piece of art sitting next to the creamer as I mixed my coffee that morning. I smile everytime I look at it and think of the wonderful, surprise weekend I had at the Banks.

I think this project is awesome! It brought a smile to my day & the random act of beauty is inspiring!

My five year old daughter was extremely excited to find the artwork. She felt as though she had won the lottery. She could not wait to come back home and e-mail the artist.

What do you think about this project?
We love the idea of the Real Small Art League! What a wonderful way to bring smiles to a lot of people. My daughter is so excited to try to make her own art and hide it when we travel over the summer.

What are you going to do with your Real Small Art? I live in a loft in a historic, renovated bakery just south of downtown Richmond. I would love to find a space on one of the exposed beams to hang my 2"x2" daisy.

How did finding Real Small Art effect your day, if at all? It is such a sweet and unexpected gift - it makes my heart happy!

What do you think about this project? There is so much anger, fear and hostility in our country right now. This is such a selfless, thoughtful effort on the part of the artists who participate. Thank you for reminding us to take a step back, let down our defenses and suspicions. This gift will be a reminder to me that there still genuine, good-natured, giving and loving humans among us!

Where did you find Real Small Art? = Echo Lake Park

What were you doing? = Letterboxing

What are you going to do with it? = Probably display it in my home. Maybe put it in my letterboxing scrapbook or maybe pass it on for someone else to enjoy.

What were the effects of finding Real Small Art? = It made our day! My husband and I found 6 letterboxes at echo lake, 5 of which had hand carved stamps plus an unexpected original small painting! What a fun day of finding handmade treasures!

Art Found Story

We were at Echo Lake Park today and found a bag in a hole in a tree. Imagine our surprise when we realized it was a small piece of art. I took my 8 year old twin daughters to the park to get some exercise and play in the play area. One of the girls found one in the play area. If you know anything about twins, you probably know that meant we had to go back around the lake until we found a second one. The first one was a blue and green water picture with fish. They go to Echo Lake Elem. School and their colors are blue and green and they are the dolphins. So, my girls naturally took the fish to be dolphins. Then as we walked further around the park, my other daughter found a picture of the beach with a seashell on it. They were both very pretty pictures and my girls we thrilled. You made their day. It was also a nice treat for me since today was my birthday. That was such a wonderful surprise and a really nice thing for you to do. My girls wanted to thank you for sharing your talent with us. I was a beekeeper until my three hives perished by Colony Collapse Disorder. My day job is records management and archiving. I have ADHD and Art has been wonderful for me, and it has taught me much. I like paper and made my own "Fish" several years ago and distributed them about the office. For a while I have been involved with photography and photo editing.
