Call for Artists

Artists are invited to participate in the Real Small Art League by nominating recipients for "Free to a Good Home" and/or donating small works of art inspired by artistic kindness.

Donated art will be scanned and exhibited online with information provided by the artist (the artists name, contact information, website and/or a short bio). Accepted work will be sent freely to nominated recipients or enclosed in geocaches. Artists may indicate their preference, and destinations will be reported to the artist.

Please send work to PO BOX 3416 Richmond VA 23235. Related information can be mailed with the art, or emailed to realsmallart@gmail.com with a JPG of the work (So we can match the email with the artwork).

Art must be smaller than 4"x6"and flat. All legal materials are accepted. The Real Small Art League may choose not to include work deemed offensive or alarming for general audiences. Artwork is currently accepted on an ongoing basis.

Real Small Art Nomination... amazing.

An amazing Real Small Art Nomination
(Last name omitted to protect Colin's identity)

My close friend, Colin, would make a perfect recipient of Real Small Art and give it a good home because he is one of the most giving people I have ever met. He has given his time and money volunteering with the American Cancer Society for years, he is the guy people call when they need car repairs, maintenance, a jump, to get pulled out of the mud (me), etc. He is a local teacher and I have seen him every week working on his classwork for his students for hours at his home and purchasing needed materials. He is my inspiration with his recent weight loss, he is going to participate in a benefit Bachelor Auction soon (which I would never do) and, with the recent foot of snowfall, he just volunteered at a local hospital driving people around in his four-wheel drive vehicle. All of this while taking care of his three cats. Most of all, he tries really hard, never gives up and he never gives up on his friends, This is why my friend, Colin, is a worthy recipient of Real Small Art and would give it a great home.

What was your first reaction?
I was overwhelmed by the kind gesture. It's hard to pin point those "random acts of kindness" in today's society, but Real Small Art is the essential definition. It's amazing to physically hold that "act of kindness."

What are you going to do with your Real Small Art?
It hangs next to our door as a reminder to pass on our own act of kindness to others. It also inspires me to be grateful for the little things in life.

How did finding Real Small Art affect your day, if at all?
It was exciting! Like Christmas when I was a kid.

What do you think about this project?
I thought it was the sweetest idea to send these out to people. When my husband explained to me what it was all about, I was really touched by the concept. It completely brightened my day! :)

What are you going to do with your Real Small Art?
We are having a baby girl in May and I plan to incorporate the picture in her nursery since it is such a brightly colored flower and I want our baby to have lots of bright and happy colors surround her.

How did finding Real Small Art effect your day, if at all?
As I mentioned earlier, it brightened my day and I loved the concept of people using their talents and gifts to just do random acts of kindness. It's an awesome concept!

What are you going to do with your Real Small Art? I own a "real small" cottage in Maryland that can only accommodate "real small" art. My Real Small Art will fit very nicely there to be displayed for family and friends to enjoy!
How did finding Real Small Art effect your day, if at all? When I opened the envelope containing my Real Small Art, I was quite amazed. I had been moninated by my son, Christopher, as someone who could provide a good home for Real Small Art. I will certainly do my best to do just that! I feel very honored to have this opportunity.

What are you going to do with your Real Small Art?
frame it in a very, very large frame and place it in my family room where it will get a lot of viewing from family and friends. if/when i decide i want to remove it, i plan to give it to an art/consigment shop owner as a personal thank you for her support of my craft art.

How did finding Real Small Art effect your day, if at all?
not only do i love art and creativity, but most of all i love sponteniety and this hit the spot, making a very cold day much warmer. THANK YOU FOR BRIGHTENING MY DAY!
